About Me:
Hi. I’m Andrea. Nice to meet you.
We might as well get this out of the way. I’m so much smaller in person.
Having spent the past 15 years as a creative leader in audience- and client-facing roles, that’s an exclamation I hear a lot.
I call it my shortcoming …
Sure, there have been embarrassing moments with my shortcoming, but I’ve always “made up for it” with my precocious, boisterous and tenacious personality. My boss at my first job called me “Mighty Mouse” for displaying such traits. I’m not sure if I’m offended.
I actually embrace this shortcoming. I don’t always love it, but it’s part of who I am. It’s part of what makes me the leader I am. My shortcoming — I’m sure like yours — has helped shape my entire being. At the least, it’s certainly a conversation starter.
Maybe your shortcoming isn’t as visible to the naked eye. Perhaps it’s easier to hide. But, why put a glossy finish on an already beautiful Monet? After all, it’s the way all the colors blend together that make it unique. Isn’t it?
I say all this, because I bring this level of authenticity, and wit to my leadership style and it has proven to work. Chances are your team, your colleagues, the people around you will respect you more for owning your shortcomings than trying to hide from them.
I am passionate about the content, but coaching and leading teams brings me joy. When I’m not building community where I work, I am creating another community through my yoga practice. I teach HIIT yoga three times a week.
